Saigon Kick & L.A. GUNS
After spending Monday in Chicago celebrating the music and legacy of Rush, we flew home to Nashville, only to turn right back around on Saturday and make the trip to the Arcada Theater in St. Charles, Illinois, for an evening with Saigon Kick and LA Guns.
Before LA Guns hit the stage, Saigon Kick got the night started with a performance that got the crowd warmed up and ready to go. The band looked like they were having a great time and joking around with each other between songs. They brought an energy that made the perfect start to the night.
What impressed us just as much, though, was who they are off the stage. If you ever have the opportunity to meet the members of Saigon Kick, take it. They’re incredibly kind, generous with their time, and genuinely grateful for every fan who comes out to support them.
We’ve seen LA Guns a plethora of times, and not once have we walked away disappointed. One of the things that stands out most is just how much fun they’re having on stage. The band genuinely loves being on stage together. Tracii Guns is always incredible to watch, Phil Lewis hasn’t lost an ounce of his charisma, and Johnny Martin, Ace Von Johnson, and Shawn Duncan keep everything anchored down. You can tell they genuinely love performing, and that enthusiasm carries over to the audience. The chemistry between the band members, the interaction with the crowd, and the excitement from the fans all come together to create an unforgettable concert experience. Every performance feels energetic, and the band delivers the same passion and intensity whether they’re playing a packed theater or a more intimate venue.
The band has been on the road consistently over the last several years, bringing their dynamic performances to fans all across the United States. They’re showing no signs of slowing down either, as they’ll be taking that same energy overseas with a European tour this fall.
If LA Guns is ever coming anywhere near your town, don’t hesitate. Every time we see them we’re reminded why we don’t get tired of it. They’re one of those bands that continues to deliver night after night, and every show leaves us looking forward to the next one.
